NVS Recruitment 2023 Navodaya Vidyalaya TGT PGT Exam Study Notes

DIG

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is responsible for establishing and managing Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) across India. JNVs are co-educational residential schools that provide quality education to talented students from rural areas.

The primary objective of NVS is to provide quality education to rural children, with a focus on the intellectual, physical, and social development of students. The NVS system is unique in many ways, as it provides free education, boarding, and lodging facilities to students, who are selected based on a merit-cum-means basis through a national level entrance exam known as the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).

Apart from providing quality education, NVS also aims to foster national integration by admitting students from all states and Union Territories of India. The curriculum of NVS is designed to promote learning through a variety of co-curricular activities, including sports, music, dance, and drama.

Overall, NVS plays a crucial role in providing quality education to talented students from rural areas, and it has been successful in achieving its objective of promoting excellence and social justice through education.
