Sikkim PSC Exam 2024 Study Material and Syllabus based notes available

Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) is inviting interested and eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Architect. As mentioned in the official notification of SPSC Recruitment 2024, there are 18 vacancies for the mentioned position. The vacancies are opened for various categories. The candidates selected for the mentioned position will get a monthly salary in Level-15 of the Pay Matrix. The candidates applying for the mentioned position should have a Degree in Architecture. The maximum age limit for applying for the mentioned position is starting from 21 years.

In accordance with the official notification of SPSC Recruitment 2024, the applicable candidates will be selected on the basis of written examinations conducted by the committee. The candidates applying for the mentioned opportunity have to pay an amount as an application fee. As mentioned in the official notification of SPSC Recruitment 2024, interested and eligible candidates can apply online by filling out the application form available on the official website of SPSC and submitting it to the same. Graduate Degree from, a recognized University.

Age Limit

Should have attained the age of 21 yrs. but should not have attained the age of 30 years on the first day of the month of advertisement. The maximum age limit shall be relaxed upto 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to BL, SC & ST and 4 years for MBC candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. (in the case of Sikkim Government Service in regular establishment the maximum age should not be more then 40 years). Incase of Ex Serviceman from Armed forces the age relaxation is applicable as per the notification issued by the State Government.

The competitive examination comprises three successive stages :

1. Sikkim State Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations

Screening Test (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination

2. Sikkim State Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written)

3. Interview

Sikkim PSC Preliminary Examination Syllabus

The Preliminary Examination will consist of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 300 marks in each paper as set out in Part (A) of Section-2. This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be about twelve to thirteen times the total approximate number of vacancies in each category of reservation to be filled in the year. Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination.

Current events of national and international importance

History of India and Indian National Movement

Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World

Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.

General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialisation.

General Science

PAPER - II

Comprehension

Interpersonal skills including Communication Skills

Logical reasoning and Analytical ability

Decision Making and Problem Solving

General Mental Ability

Basic Numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.

English Language Comprehension skills

Sikkim PSC Main Examination Syllabus

The question papers for the main examination will be of conventional type.

Syllabus for Sikkim PSC Main Exam Optional Subjects

The Main Examination will consist of a written examination and an Interview Test. The written examination will consist of 4 papers of conventional type carrying 800 marks in aggregate. The breakup of the total marks, paper wise, and time are specified against each papergiven below :

Paper I Current Affairs & Analytical ability 100 marks 1 ½ hrs
Paper II General English & Short essay 100 marks 1 ½hrs
Paper III Optional – I 300 marks 3 hrs
Paper IV Optional – II 300 marks 3 hrs

Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the Main Examination, as may be fixed by the Commission at their discretion, shall be called for interview. The marks obtained in these papers will be counted for ranking.

The number of candidates to be called for the interview will be about twice the number of vacancies to be filled. The interview will carry 100 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks).

Marks thus obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination (written) as well as in the interview would determine their final ranking.

(i) Among the language papers viz Hindi, Nepali and English candidates will be allowed to opt only one subject.

Interview

Interview Test will carry 100 marks.
