WBPSC Judicial Service Eligibility Criteria 2022
WBPSC has not yet released the WBPSC Judicial Service Eligibility Criteria 2022. Until a final notification is issued, the candidates can follow the eligibility criteria of the previous year, as hardly any changes are expected this year.
To be considered for the position of Civil Judge (Junior Division), the candidates need to fulfill several requirements including age limit, educational qualifications, nationality, and other vital points.
WBPSC Judicial Service Educational Qualifications
Candidates aspiring to become a Civil Judge (Junior Division) should possess the following educational qualifications:
- The candidate must hold a graduation degree in Law recognized by University Grants Commission or any other equivalent degree.
- The candidate must be enrolled as an advocate in the role of the Bar Council of any Indian state or Union Territory on the date of advertisement of the examination.

WBPSC Judicial Service Age Limit
- The candidate must be between the ages of 23 and 35 to be considered eligible for the position of Civil Judge (Junior Division).
- However, certain age relaxations are granted by WBPSC for applicants of various reserved categories. They are as follows:

WBPSC Judicial Service Exam Pattern
The WBPSC Judicial Service Recruitment exam is conducted by West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) in order to fill vacancies for the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division).
The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has established a three-stage selection procedure for the WBPSC Judicial Service Exam:
- Prelims Exam
- Mains Exam
- Personality Test/ Interview/ Viva-voce
WBPSC will conduct the written examination (Prelims and Mains) as well as a Viva-voce based on which the candidates will be selected for the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division). The exam pattern of the three different stages are mentioned below:
WBPSC Judicial Service Preliminary Exam Pattern 2022
- The preliminary exam consists of only one paper namely the General Studies and Aptitude Test (CSAT) with a total of 200 questions.
- The paper is an Objective-type Paper.
- The Preliminary paper is conducted in the English language only.
- The duration of the paper is 2.5 hours or 150 minutes.

- Candidates clearing the Prelims paper will only be eligible to sit for the Mains paper.
- The paper is descriptive in nature and is divided into two parts.
- The Mains Exam consists of 8 compulsory papers in Part B along with 3 optional papers in Part A within a time limit of 3 hours each.
