WBPSC Judicial Service Exam Pattern

The WBPSC Judicial Service Recruitment exam is conducted by West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) in order to fill vacancies for the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division).

The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has established a three-stage selection procedure for the WBPSC Judicial Service Exam:

  • Prelims Exam
  • Mains Exam
  • Personality Test/ Interview/ Viva-voce

WBPSC will conduct the written examination (Prelims and Mains) as well as a Viva-voce based on which the candidates will be selected for the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division). The exam pattern of the three different stages are mentioned below:

WBPSC Judicial Service Preliminary Exam Pattern 2022

  • The preliminary exam consists of only one paper namely the General Studies and Aptitude Test (CSAT) with a total of 200 questions.
  • The paper is an Objective-type Paper.
  • The Preliminary paper is conducted in the English language only.
  • The duration of the paper is 2.5 hours or 150 minutes.

  • Candidates clearing the Prelims paper will only be eligible to sit for the Mains paper.
  • The paper is descriptive in nature and is divided into two parts.
  • The Mains Exam consists of 8 compulsory papers in Part B along with 3 optional papers in Part A within a time limit of 3 hours each.

The applicants who score 33% or higher in both the papers (Prelims and Mains) will be eligible to sit for the Viva-voce/ Interview.
