The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts an online examination to recruit clerical cadre for multiple public sector banks operating in the country. 

IBPS released the notification for the IBPS Clerk exam on 30th June 2022. The IBPS Clerk 2022 notification was released on the official website @ibps.in. The exam for IBPS Clerk will be held in online mode only. Every year the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection holds the IBPS clerical cadre in multiple Public Sector Banks. This time IBPS has basically released a total number 6035 vacancies to hire potential candidates for the clerical cadre for the FY 2022-23.

Examination Pattern and details

Candidates have to qualify for each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. The adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for online Main examination. Depending on the vacancies and requirements IBPS will call a few selected candidates for the interview by the IBPS Authority.

Eligibility Criteria

IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 Post (Age limit - 18-30)

 i. Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy;

ii. Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs.

iii. Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification Not Required.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-2 (General Banking Officer) (Age - 21-32)

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-2 SO Information Technology Officer (Age limit - 21-32)

Degree from a recognised University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc. One year.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-2 SO Chartered Accountant (Age limit - 21-32)

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India One YearIBPS RRB Officer Scale 2SO Law Officer Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period not less than two years.

IBPS RRB Scale-2 SO Treasury Manager (Age limit - 21-32)

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution One Year.

IBPS RRB Scale-2 SO Marketing Officer (Age limit - 21-32)

MBA in Marketing from a recognized university One Year

IBPS RRB Scale-2 SO Agricultural Officer (Age limit - 21-32)

Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate 2 Years.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-3 Post (Age limit - 21-40)

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Post (Age limit - 18-28)

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent (a) Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs (b) Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills.

IBPS Clerk Selection Procedure

The selection process of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection gets completed in three stages. First, the Applied candidates appear in the preliminary examination, and the candidates who qualify the IBPS Clerk preliminary examination gets selected for the IBPS Clerk mains examination. After the commencement of both the IBPS Clerk exam the organization conducts the IBPS Interview session for those who qualify both the rounds. On the basis of candidate’s performance in the whole selection, final positions are allotted to the post.

The IBPS Clerk examination will be two Stages with the online examination will be held in two phases as Preliminary and Main. Candidates who will qualify for the Preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for the Main examination. The  Preliminary Examination will be conducted via online mode. The Prelims exam consists of 100 objective type questions of 100 marks & 3 sections. The Main Examination will be conducted online. The IBPS Clerk Mains paper consists of 190 Qs of 200 marks in 160 minutes.

IBPS Clerk’s previous year pattern the overall increase of 25 minutes is introduced in the IBPS Clerk exam this year. The changes brought by the Authority now as computer knowledge is clubbed with Reasoning Ability, this section carries 50 Questions of  60 Marks in 45 minutes.

Note: There will be a 0.25 Negative Marking for every wrong answer.

The  Preliminary Examination will be conducted via online mode.
