Bihar Judicial Service Exam 2025 Syllabus based study notes

The Bihar Judicial Service Exam is conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for the recruitment of Civil Judges in the state judiciary. The exam is conducted in three stages - preliminary examination, main examination, and viva-voce.

The eligibility criteria for the Bihar Judicial Service Exam include a Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university and the age of the candidate should not be less than 22 years and more than 35 years. However, there are age relaxations for certain categories of candidates.

The syllabus for the Bihar Judicial Service Exam includes topics such as the Indian Evidence Act, Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, Code of Civil Procedure, Constitution of India, and General Knowledge. The exam pattern for the preliminary exam includes multiple-choice questions, while the main exam consists of descriptive type questions.

Candidates who qualify for the Bihar Judicial Service exam are appointed as Civil Judges in the state judiciary. As a Civil Judge, the candidate will be responsible for hearing and deciding cases in civil and criminal matters. Eligibility Criteria

Qualification :  Candidates should possess Law Graduation or equivalent form recognized University & University recognized by Bar Counseling of India.

Age Limit : 

  • Minimum Age Limit: 22 Years

  • Maximum Age: 35 Years

  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules

Selection Procedure : Aspirants selection will be based on Written Test and Personal Interview.

The result for BPSC Judicial Service Exam will be declared in a step-by-step process. First of all, the result of Pre Exam will be declared on the official website of BPSC. GEN/Reserved Category: 45%

SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Unreserved: 40%

Minimum Qualifying Marks for BPSC Judicial Services Mains Exam: Female candidates, PwD candidates and Reserved category candidates need to obtain 5% less marks in comparison to General and Unreserved category candidates.
