Higher Secondary Courses/Board Exams

ICSE Board Examinations

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) conducts ICSE 10th board exam every year in the months of February/March. The Council has released the examination schedule for ICSE 10th. The exams are scheduled to commence from February 27 and end on March 30, 2020. The ICSE result 2020 will release in the first week of May. Students need to score a minimum of 33 per cent in order to clear the ICSE 10th 2020 exams.

Last year, the ICSE 10th exams were conducted between February 22 and March 23, 2019, and the result was declared on May 7, 2019.

CBSE Board Examinations  

CBSE Board exams 2020: With the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) starting the annual class 10 and class 12 examinations from today, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his wishes to ‘exam warriors’ through a tweet.

The Prime Minister, who had earlier released a book called ‘exam warrior’ to help students and parents de-stress and remain cool during the board exams, wrote, “I urge my young friends to appear for the exams in a happy and stress-free manner.”

Over 30.96 lakh students have registered to appear for CBSE board exams this year, of which 18,89,878 candidates will be appearing for class 10 and 12,06,893 students for class 12 exams.

This is a slight decline from last year when 31.14 lakh students registered for the same.

Meanwhile, HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhiryal Nishank has also been tweeting tips based on PM’s book and advice to score one’s best potential in board exams.

U. P. Board Intermediate (Class X & XII) Examinations

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) exams for class 12 and 10 will begin from February 18, 2020.

Over 56 lakh students will appear for the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) class 10 and 12 examinations that will commence from Tuesday, February 18, 2020. This year, the board has taken a slew of measures to check malpractices including installing Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in every centre, voice-recorder, and arresting cheating mafias across the state.

The UP Board exams will conclude on March 6. This year, a lesser number of students (56,07,118) registered for the examinations as against 57,95,756 last year.

Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) Exams

With the class 10 Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) exams beginning today, there has been a significant dip in the number of students appearing for the examination. This year, a total of 15.29 lakh students registered against the previous year’s figure of 16.6 lakh. In 2018, the number of registrations was around 17 lakh.

A total of 15,29,393 students registered for the matriculation examination this year, with 7.83 lakh (7,83,034) female, and 7.46 lakh (7,46,359) male students, read the BSEB release.

West Bengal Madhyamik Exam

The Madhyamik examination will commence from February 18, 2020.

About 10.15 lakh students will appear for the Madhyamik (Secondary) examinations starting from Tuesday. The Madhyamik examinations, which will continue till February 27, will be held in 2,839 centres.

According to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), which conducts the exams, more than 56 per cent of the total students appearing this year are girls – the highest in recent times.

WBBSE president Kalyanmoy Ganguly said at a press meeting on Sunday: “As many as 10,15,888 candidates will appear for the Madhyamik examinations this year, and of them, 5,76,009 are girls, which is 56.70 per cent. The number of female students taking the examination has been on the rise for the past few years. This year’s 56.70 per cent is the highest in recent times.” Last year, as many as 10,50,397 student had written the exam across 2835 centres.

Maharashtra Board HSC Exam 2020 has been started from 18 February 2020. Maharashtra Board HSC 12th Date Sheet for 2020 has been released by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). The Maharashtra State Board 12th class board exam will be held from 18 February to 18 March 2020
