The High Court of Delhi publishes the official notification of the Delhi Judicial Services Exam (DJSE), which is conducted annually to recruit eligible aspirants for the Civil Judge post in the Delhi Civil Service (Judicial Branch).

This year, the High Court announced a total of 123 vacancies, out of which 55 were existing ones and 68 were anticipated vacancies.

The Delhi Judicial Prelims exams were successfully concluded in April and shortlisted candidates must attend the Delhi Judicial Mains examination that will be conducted shortly.

Delhi Judicial Services Selection Process

If you are securing the minimum marks, then you are eligible for the next stage. Passing through all three stages with the required percentage will make you eligible for an appointment to the post of Civil Judge in the Delhi High Court.

Delhi Judiciary Eligibility Criteria 2022

Before proceeding with the application form, you must check the Delhi Judiciary Eligibility Criteria set by the Delhi High Court. Otherwise, you are not eligible to apply for the exam.

You must be a citizen of India.
You must hold a degree in Law from any recognized University/Institute to apply for the exam.
You must be an advocate who is practicing in India or have qualifications to be an advocate according to the Advocates Act, 1961
You must not be more than 32 years as of 01 January 2022.

As per the Delhi Judiciary Exam 2022 Pattern, recruitment is conducted in three stages:

Delhi Judicial Service Preliminary Examination Pattern

The Delhi Judiciary preliminary examination includes a total of 200 questions.
Each question carries one mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.
The scores of prelims are not considered for the final merit list. However, it is important to score above qualifying marks to be considered for the mains examination.

Delhi Judiciary Main Examination Pattern

The main exam is descriptive in nature and it has four papers:

General Knowledge and Language
Civil Law-I
Civil Law-I
Criminal Law

Delhi Judicial Service Exam Interview

You will get shortlisted for interview/viva-voce only if you score more than the cut-off marks in the Mains examination.

The interview is conducted for 150 marks.
In the interview, you are tested on your character, personality, and suitability for the job.
Candidates of the general category must secure a minimum of 50% marks and candidates of reserved categories, i.e., Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and eligible categories of Persons with Disabilities as specified for this Service must secure a minimum of 45% marks in viva-voce to be eligible for being recommended for appointment to the service.
The marks obtained in the viva voce will be added to the marks obtained in the Mains Examination (Written) and the candidate’s position will depend on the aggregate of both.
